Wink!

Hello!  I'm Meltycat, and I've started this site to showcase some of the underappreciated and largely unknown information about the NES!  My inspiration for this site came about when I was looking up some information on The Krion Conquest, an old Vic Tokai game that wasn't very fun or interesting.  I was curious about the game since I hadn't played it in so long, when I found out that it was a translation of a Japanese game called Magical Doropie.  In Magical Doropie, there were added anime cutscenes which told you about a more detailed story.  Of course, the game was still kind of average, but the very fact that they had actually removed material from the game made me wonder.  What other differences are there between Japanese and American releases?  Why would game companies remove additional material in the first place?  And what other weird NES-related information is there to discover?

This site will focus exclusively on strange, bizarre, and hopefully interesting information on both the NES and its Japanese counterpart, the Famicom.  It'll also cover some of the system's underappreciated gems so that you might be able to find a great game you missed when the NES was in its prime and have a few new games to enjoy.

I hope you'll come across some things that you've never seen before on this site!  If there are any articles that you particularly enjoy, by all means let me know so I can know where to focus my efforts.  You can contact me at the following address:
